The Soul X-Ray: When something is “Highly Triggering”…
October 19, 2018Have you been getting “triggered” lately? How about “highly triggered”? Is it something someone said, did, didn’t do!? Take notice. Over the past weeks in The Art of Co-Creative Sex online healing program, we’ve been having some really amazing exchanges and this was one of the little golden nuggets that came up in the discussions: “Whatever is highly triggering to you is just a replay of something you already know.” I wanted to bring you into the discussion too because it is such an important piece of wisdom that can really change things for you.
This requires a shift of perspective. When something is highly triggering to you, consider it from this perspective: It’s not about the other person. It’s ALL about you. It’s actually a gift to you.
If you can own it, and the fastest you manage to do this, the faster you will get to a place of peace. So, if something is “highly triggering” to you, think of it as only a “replay” of something that you already know and this is why its such a sensitive issue. Perhaps, it shows up as intense anger, perhaps a feeling of abandonment, of loss, of feeling really small… or invisible! Perhaps its a loss of voice. But those feelings did not start with this “trigger”, it comes from other experiences in your life, most often early on in the game!
When you see this, it allows you to learn what is lurking in that inner soup of yours. It allows you to see that there are some “unresolved issues” floating in there that need some tending to.
The beauty of this: When you find what is going on, what piece of the soup is remaining “indigest” and take some time to digest it, and “evacuate” it from your system, something AMAZING happens.
And it is SO SO SO simple.
Have you guessed?
If you manage to really “digest” and “evacuate”, you simply don’t get triggered anymore.
You stay grounded in yourself. You may even laugh. No need to get all worked up anymore: no need for fight, flight or freeze.
And what do you gain?
Poise & Perspective.
And this is very powerful place to be!
More little nuggets from our TACO exchanges to come! The participants were so engaged and stimulating and I want you to taste and enjoy some of the effervescence too!
Love ya!
